TECH’s Walter van Loon and Volodymyr Bagdasarian recently paid a visit to our longtime distributor Gematic in Germany. Over a busy few days, they had the pleasure of visiting Gematic’s customer Reiff in Göppingen to host a tire repair seminar, following the introduction of TECH tire repair and retreading materials to their vast operations.
Alongside Gematic’s Sales Manager, Stefan Hensber, Walter and Volodymyr introduced TECH’s extensive line of tire repair materials with a special emphasis on Hot Vulcanizing Repair techniques.
With over 29 service points primarily located in South Germany, the Reiff group also boasts a large Retread factory in Reutlingen which just like TECH’s Thermacure repairs, is certified by Bridgestone – Bandag.
The training session was attended by 6 of Reiff’s technicians and their supervisor, covering various topics including:
- Uni-Seal “Speed Rated” nail hole repairs (max 6mm in Y & Z rated passenger Tires)
- Radial Truck Tire Repairs (Centech + Thermacure applications)
- Introduction to OTR repairs, and more.
Similar to all TECH Training events, the seminar included both theoretical explanations as well as time to view the products while our team remained available for guidance and product application tips. This included everything from tire inspection to pre-cleaning, study of repairable areas, preparation, selection of the appropriate repair and technique as well as how to use TECH chemicals and specialty tools for proper tire repair and retread.
As part of TECH’s commitment to tire repair training, additional visits have also been scheduled to further this partnership and ensure up-to-date training and knowledge continues to be shared with the technicians. One such visit includes a trip to Reiff’s Retread factory in Reutlingen.
Following the completion of the training seminar, all attendees were presented with a TECH Tire Repair Specialist Certificate to commend their participation and will remain valid for one year, authorizing Hot Vulcanization activities.
